its difficult to say on the cost because there are several manufacturers of A-bus components and costs vary just as they do with traditional distributed audio systems. A-bus equipment is available from AMP/tyco, Eaton, Harman Kardon, Honeywell, Home Director, Channel Vision, UStec , Phase Technology and others. The components and features vary a bit along witht the cost so its hard to compare overall cost. Some of the advantages of the a-bus technology over traditional systems are: less cable required. easy to install. little or no programing of equipment required.
