I need to pick an enclosure for my telephone and data panels for my home. I have 6 data outlets and 16 telephone extensions, 2 phone lines and a linsys switch I need to put inside. I would also like to use the type that can be recessed into a 2x4 framed sheetrock wall. Any suggestions appreciated.

i like the Leviton Structured Media Panels, in the Leviton Integrated Networks line. they are designed to fit in 2x4 stud wall on 16" centers. they come 14", 28" and 42" high. all the modules snap in and a wide variety are available. I would suggest at least the 28" high can since you plan on putting a linksys router inside.

i like the leviton enclosures also. I also like the onQ/Legrand enclosures. i like the ELK can also and they come with a hinged lid. You can get the Leviton cans with hinged lids also, but they cost more and most of the times the ones available to buy off the shelf have the screw on lids with a screw in each corner. it makes a very flush finish, but it is a pain to remove the screws everytime time you want to open the can, especially with a switch inside which will probably need to be rebooted or power cycled once in a while.
